Dubai women show their art
An art exhibition featuring works by twenty students from Dubai Women's College recently provided the people of north-west Victoria with rare glimpses into the richly diverse lives of people from another culture.
The week-long exhibition at Stefano's Gallery resulted from an educational relationship between La Trobe University and Dubai Women's College, part of the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The relationship was forged by La Trobe Mildura campus executive director, Kent Farrell, who spent seven years teaching in the Emirates. Head of Graphic Arts and Design, Neil Fettling worked closely with Dubai Women's College to bring the exhibition to Victoria.
