The Foundation is growing a list of scholarships from which it makes awards annually. Currently, the list includes:

Box Ironbark Research Scholarship (currently under review)
The Box-Ironbark Research Scholarships have been established by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation to support students undertaking a higher degree by research (Masters or PhD) at the Bendigo Campus of La Trobe University.

| Conditions of Eligibilty |
The scholarships shall be awarded to a full-time Masters by Research or PhD student who is undertaking a project relating to the Box-Ironbark forests and woodlands. |

| Selection Criteria |
Applicants will be required to enrol in a Masters by Research, or PhD at the Bendigo Campus of La Trobe University before funds are made available. In addition to applications from an individual student, or prospective student, the Selection Committee will consider proposals for specific projects submitted by academic areas and/or potential staff supervisors, with the view to funding being approved prior to advertising for a suitable candidate. Proponents will be required to submit a concept proposal of approximately 500 words, including a detailed request for funding (not exceeding $2,000 per year). Proposals will be assessed on their merit and value for money. In the case of proposals from staff, preference will be given to those which can identify the student who will undertake the project, and whose application for higher degree candidature is being reviewed. The Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation will seek to maximise the number of grants from this once-off source of funding, being available to support projects. The Selection Committee may offer funding for the duration of a course, or a selected period. The Board reseves the right to vary, or not to make the award in a specific year, if there are insufficient applicants, or if the applicants are deemed by the selection panel not to have demonstrated eligibility based on the selection criteria |

The R. Robert Clark Memorial Award
The Award has been established, within the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation, by an initial donation from the Clark Family in memory of Mr R. Robert Clark, a member of the Humanities staff at the antecedent institutions of La Trobe University, Bendigo from 1961 to 1981. During that time he served as Head of the Department of Humanities at the Bendigo Institute of Technology from 1970 to 1977 and Chairman of the Centre for General Studies at the Bendigo College of Advanced Education from 1977 to 1980.
The Award will recognise academic excellence in the Bachelor of Arts.

The award shall be made to the most outstanding second year student in the Bachelor of Arts. Selection of the successful candidate will be on the recommendation of the Chief Examiners meeting, following end of year examinations. |

The Davey Family Scholarship
This scholarship is administered by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation and was established from an initial donation by Mr Brian Davey and recently complemented by a matching endowment from his brother Emeritus Professor Ian Davey. The scholarship is awarded to assist an undergraduate student preferably from the Eaglehawk area, enrolled on the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.

Mark Harrington Memorial Award
The Award has been established, within the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation, by an initial donation from the Bendigo Students Association and the Harrington Family in memory of Mark Harrington, a student in the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Computing double degree from 2001 to 2003.

The award shall be made to the most outstanding first year student in any of the IT/Computing degrees. Selection of the successful candidate will be on the recommendation of the Chief Examiner’s meeting, following end of year examinations. |

| Funding Details |
The scholarship has been established within the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation from an initial donation of $2,000 from the Bendigo Students Association and $2,000 from the family of the late Mark Harrington. The Advisory Board of the Foundation will determine the annual amount of the award, based on interest received on the capital investment. |

Leslie Kilmartin Regional Scholarship
The Leslie Kilmartin Regional Scholarship was established by Professor Leslie Kilmartin upon his retirement as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of La Trobe University, Bendigo in September 2003. Professor Kilmartin indicated a preference for support to students from regional Victoria, who may have not previously had the opportunity to enter university and who are undertaking their first university degree at the Bendigo Campus of La Trobe University.

Kylie Morrow Memorial Award
The Kylie Morrow Memorial Award has been established by La Trobe University, Bendigo and J & L Catering in memory of Kylie Elizabeth Morrow, a Bachelor of Arts student who was tragically killed in an accident in Switzerland in July 1999.

T.A. McLelland Memorial Award
The Award has been established, within the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation, by initial donation from the McLelland Family in memory of T.A. McLelland, a member of the Chemistry staff at the antecedent institutions of La Trobe University, Bendigo from 1958 to 1979. During that time he served as Head of the Department of Chemistry for nine years and Head of the School of Applied Science for eleven years.
The Award will recognise academic excellence in the discipline of Chemistry.

Penfold Public Health Research Prize
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student who has successfully completed the Bachelor of Public Health at the Bendigo Campus, achieving the highest average score across the units Public Health Research A (HLT12PHR), Public Health Research B (HLT21PHR) and Epidemiology (HLT31EP).
Flo Robinson Postgraduate Special Education Scholarship
This scholarship is administered by The Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation and was established from an initial donation by Miss Flo Robinson, a former Principal of Kangaroo Flat Primary School. The Scholarship is awarded to support a student from regional Victoria, who is commencing postgraduate studies a field of special education on the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.

Applicants will be ranked according to a total weighted score which includes personal information, financial need, educational disadvantage and academic merit. For more information see the full details of the ranking schema. Applicants must also clearly demonstrate how the Scholarship will be used to support their academic study. Where this criterion is insufficient, other criteria may be applied as approved by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation Advisory Board. Note: The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and the selection committee reserves the right not to offer the Scholarship if applicants are of insufficient merit. |

Two Scholarships will be made available annually. There will be one scholarship awarded to a student who commences prior to the 31st March, the second to a student who commences after 31 March but before the 31 August.
The period of Scholarship will be for one year, which will consist of two payments of $1,000, This amount is usually paid in March/August or August/March depending on when the student has commenced study. |

Westate Community Development Award
The Award has been established, within the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation, by initial donation from Westate Community Development Limited.
The Award seeks to promote an understanding of the role of community development and social work within a regional environment.

The Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation Scholarship and Roger Jalland Medal
The Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation Scholarship was established by La Trobe University and Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE as part of the 125 th Anniversary of Tertiary Education in Bendigo in April 1998.
The medal is named after the Settlor of the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation, the late Mr Roger Jalland.
The medal's design reflects the tradition of the Jubilee Medals, issued to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Bendigo School of Mines in 1923 and the Gold Medal for outstanding academic excellence awarded by the Bendigo Institute of Technology from 1943 to 1970.
The Scholarship shall be administered by the Bendigo Tertiary Anniversary Education Foundation.

This scholarship is administered by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation and was established from an initial donation by the Bendigo Chapter of La Trobe University Alumni. The Scholarship is awarded to support a final year undergraduate student enrolled on the Bendigo campus of LaTrobe University.

Members of the Committee of the Bendigo Chapter of the La Trobe University Alumni are ineligible to receive Alumni scholarships during the period of their service on the Committee, or in the year immediately following their service on the Committee. Bendigo Student Association scholarship.
This scholarship is administered by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation and was established by the Bendigo Student Association at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.
The Scholarship is awarded to support undergraduate students who contribute to the Bendigo Student Association and the campus at Bendigo.

The Richard and Claire Guy Regional Planning Bursary
This Bursary is administered by the Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation and was established from an initial donation from Mr Richard Guy OAM, leading Bendigo business identity, philanthropist and Governor in Council representative on La Trobe University Council and his wife Mrs Claire Guy. The Bursaries were established to support students from regional Victoria undertaking the Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental Planning at La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus. This is the only accredited undergraduate planning degree offered in regional Victoria. The course provides access to a specialized program so that regional students do not have to bear the additional expenses of living and studying in Melbourne.
