Global Utilities

SIS

Training

Training in SIS is provided by the Business Systems Development Unit, with the aim of adding value to the University by improving the ability of staff to undertake their roles effectively.

SIS courses are provided free of charge.

University policy states that you must be properly trained or otherwise competent before you can access SIS. Visit the Available Sessions for NewSIS Training webpage to register the training course/s you require.

Training prerequisites

Before you can attend the SIS Basics training, you must be familiar with the Microsoft Windows operating system (particularly being able to use the mouse, understand menus, icons, and a web browser). If you are not familiar with Microsoft Windows, contact STEPS to arrange a training session.

Note that SIS Basics is a prerequisite for all other SIS courses.

There are some modules in SIS that require a basic understanding of Excel and the Mail Merge function in Word.
