Activated Sludge Workshop Series

Workshop 1: Activated Sludge Plant
Design, Operations and Troubleshooting
November 6 - 8, 2006 (duration 3 days)
This is an intensive (3 day) workshop
for engineers, operators and managers of activated sludge plants,
covering domestic and industrial processes and common treatment
plant issues. Topics include nutrient control, nitrification / denitrification
/ phosphorus-removal, aeration, inhibition, toxicity, clarifier
performance, bulking, foaming and sludge separation problems as
well as the role of selectors, external carbon addition and prefermentation.

Workshop 2: Microscopic Identification
of Filamentous Bacteria in Activated Sludge
November 9 , 2006 (duration 1 day)
This is an intensive (1 day) workshop by the internationally experienced
staff of the Biotechnology Research Centre, and covers analysis
and practical troubleshooting of filamentous bacterian and nutrient
removal problems in activated sludge. More

Registrations close 15th October. Registration for the workshop series is AUD$2200 +GST.
Places are strictly limited and late registrations may be subject
to an additional $100 booking fee. Special discounts are available
for students, trainers and multiple place bookings, contact us for details.
These workshops are designed to meet
the requirements of the Training Guarantee (Administration) Act
1990 and are suitable for incorporation into an employers training
program eligible under the act.
