Brunonia australis

Brunonia australis is a silky hairy herb commonly known as Blue Pincushion. Many crowded flowers give the 'pincushion' effect. Individual flowers are tubular at the base with petals lobed at the top (the base of the pincusion) and the reproductive part raised above the petals (the pins).
The tubular nature of the flower suggest that an insect with long mouthparts acts as pollinating agent
