Single Session Therapy

Specialist Team

The SSW team was formed in 1994 to help establish a single session service at The Bouverie Centre. With valuable input from Pat Boyhan, a psychology masters student at the time, the service was established later the same year and the experiences of the first 50 clients formally evaluated. The results of this research (Boyhan 1996) provided valuable client feedback upon which the SSW team developed an innovative and respectful therapeutic model and upon which Bouverie built a very active single session service. The team continues to support the single session clinical program within Bouverie and has been very active in providing external teaching, training and consultation to other organisations interested in adopting single session approaches in their work, as part of the Bouverie Community Services Program. The SSW team also facilitates a state-wide professional development network for professionals using a single session model in their work.

Please note that "Single Session Therapy" is now known as "Single Session Work". This is due for update on these pages, and although the graphics are not up to date, the information is. (1 July, 2006)
