Who Do We See?
The Bouverie Centre specialises in helping families coping with the impact
of major mental health problems and entrenched family difficulties. The
entire family will often be invited to attend Bouverie, to enable a broader
understanding of the difficulties people may be experiencing in relation to
the problem and each other. It can be extremely helpful to see whole
families together, and we appreciate the contribution that even very young
family members can make to family therapy.
Sometimes, however, we may see an individual by her/himself, or speak to
parents or children separately to discuss issues that concern them in
particular. When we do this, the therapist would discuss what is
confidential and what can be talked about with the whole family.
Confidentiality is assured at all times, except when the therapist thinks
someone seems at risk of harm, physically or psychologically.
