Consultation Services
The ABI team provides a range of consultation services to professionals and
agencies in Victoria. Consultation services range from telephone
consultation and case specific consultation to ongoing consultations with
agencies. Consultations can help services to work more effectively with
families and carers. As a state-wide service, the team is particularly
committed to supporting workers in rural Victoria. However, the team's
ability to respond to consultation requests will be partly determined by
its ability to generate funding to support this activity. A brochure
outlining our ABI specific training and consultation services is available
on line or from the Bouverie Centre.
The team is working on developing Bouverie-based consultation and
supervision groups for the year 2000. We would like to guage the level of
interest or need for this service, please contact Nicky Maheras,
n.meheras@latrobe.edu.au or 9385 5100 if you are interested in
participating in such a group.
Bouverie also offers other training. This ranges from comprehensive basic
training to service development, (such as the Get Together Fa.S.T.
initiatives). FaST training helps establish family sensitive cultures
within an organisation. Advanced training and consultation targets specific
programs and help workers develop practical skills in working with
families. People interested in this approach may want to visit the Get
Together Fa.S.T. Site which reports on the evaluation of this major
state-wide training and service development.
