Undergraduate study in the Department of Botany
Botany, the study of plants, is an important area of study from both the scientific and the practical point of view. It covers a spectrum of subjects from plant molecular biology, through ecology and conservation, to systematics and biodiversity. As such, it is also important for the more applied areas from Agriculture, Biotechnology and Conservation.The Department of Botany at La Trobe is conducting research and teaching in all of these major areas of Botany. This provides for both a broad education in the plant sciences as well as allowing study within particular areas of interest.
