Botany 2AES field trip
A four day field trip will be held in the mid-semester break starting on the Tuesday at 12:30 pm and finishing the following Friday at 12:30pm.
This is a compulsory component of the unit.
Students are introduced to vegetation sampling principles, soils, transect studies and plant identification. We work in Yellow Gum woodlands, sandplain heath and mallee communities in the vicinity of Natimuk, approximately 4 hrs west of Melbourne via Horsham.
Students are required to provide their own transport to the site and are encouraged to car pool. We will stay at the Lake Natimuk Caravan Park. Students will have to provide their own tents, sleeping bags, etc and provide all their own meals. Costs are $25-30 per person for use of the camping ground.
Further details are provided during Semester 2, and are placed on the web as they become available.
All students should complete the field trip authorisation forms (PDF 29KB)
