Our research links

Botany at La Trobe prepares you for participation in some of Australia's important and exciting areas of research. Graduates are offered the opportunity to conduct field-based ecological research and lab-based research, primarily in the new facility AgriBio - the Centre for AgriBioscience. We also have links to organisations such as the CSIRO, the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and the CRC Plant Biosecurity.

The academic staff within the Department of Botany have strong national and international reputations in many of the areas in which they undertake research, which translates into providing you with an education at the cutting edge of knowledge.

The Department of Botany also takes great pride in providing a friendly and supportive environment, taking particular care to ensure a positive experience for undergraduate students. The laboratory demonstrators work closely with first year students, and are always happy to provide assistance.
