Roles and responsibilities

The Timetable Officer (Timetable and Room bookings):

  • Coordinates and allocates teaching space and resources in accordance with University policy, with the aim of achieving optimal utilisation of teaching space and resources.
  • Understands and coordinates the timetable process from an institutional rather than a particular academic area perspective.
  • Provides teaching staff with Chronological reports for clash detection when requested.
  • Provides the campus schools with draft timetables in August and September, one provisional timetable early October for the following year, and the final timetable by January 1, each year.
  • Ensures teaching spaces are appropriately furnished and maintained.
  • Attends to reports from staff of any problem(s) associated with videoconferences, and central teaching venues, such as furniture, whiteboard, cleaning, damage, equipment or misuse.
  • Carries out regular room audits for the purposes of room maintenance, capacity and furniture requirements.
  • Manages any ad hoc room bookings for hire requests by the University community.
  • Is first point of contact for audio-visual requests
