Jim is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary and practises as an Acute Care Practitioner with the Bone and Joint Health Program in the Calgary Health Region in Rheumatology.

Jim will be providing an outline of the acute care nurse practitioner training and education offered at the University of Calgary and the nature and extent of the roles of ACNP’s in the Calgary Health Region. He will also provide an overview of the NP programs in Canada and discuss the relationships with physicians and other health professionals and some of the issues surrounding funding and future directions.
