Nursing Pathway Now Available at Albury


The Albury Campus of TAFE NSW Riverina Institute and La Trobe University (Wodonga) are offering an exciting Nursing pathways option that will facilitate entry to the nursing profession at a number of levels. The Course known as the Riverina Region Nursing Studies Project will provide opportunities for university study.


The Nursing Studies Project is designed for students who are principally interested in a University pathway to a nursing career. Students will gain generic skills and knowledge appropriate to the health care system and have the opportunity to practise those skills in a hospital setting. Greater Southern Area Health Services will support students in gaining their practical experience in the real world through work experience placements at the local hospital.

The course is delivered in two stages. Stage 1 consists of competencies that will be delivered by TAFE NSW Riverina Institute  Albury Campus and Stage 2 offers subjects from the Bachelor of Nursing Degree at La Trobe University's Wodonga Campus.

The students attending the course are from local High Schools in Albury and Wodonga and are currently studying Year 11. They enrolled in TVET at Riverina Institute of TAFE NSW (Albury Campus) and will complete their second year in Year 12 at La Trobe University (Wodonga).

There are 15 students enrolled from: James Fallon High School, Albury High School, Murray High School, Xavier High School and Wodonga Senior Secondary College.
