Cochrane Collaboration activities in Australia.

Dr Sophie Hill and Dr Rebecca Ryan from the Centre for Health Communication and Participation, which is part of the Australian Institute for Primary Care at La Trobe University, were awarded a nationally competitive grant of $296,499 from the Department of Health and Ageing for Cochrane Collaboration activities in Australia. The grant is for three years to June 2012 and will support the work of the Cochrane Consumers and Communication Review Group, which is part of the Centre. You can find out more about the review group here: http://www.latrobe.edu.au/chcp/cochrane/index.html.

Investigation into students with a disclosed mental illness

Professor Annette Street, Associate Dean, Health Sciences and Annie Venville from the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University’s Albury Wodonga campus will lead an investigation into why students with a disclosed mental illness are those ‘least likely’ to complete vocational education and training courses. The study is funded by a recently awarded $77,000 grant from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NVSR).
