Postgraduate Seminar Program 2009Department of BiochemistryThe postgraduate seminar series will be held informally in the seminar room at lunchtime. Talks will be of 20-25 minutes duration except for “2nd year” and “final” seminars given by students in the write-up stage. These may be of 40-50 minutes duration. Postgraduate students who have started in 2006 may wish to outline the background and aims of their projects. If students or supervisors feel there is insufficient new work to warrant presentation of a research seminar, a research paper may be chosen for presentation and discussion. All students in the 2nd year of their postgraduate studies must submit a project plan detailing their schedule for completing their PhD program. Constructive feed-back on the projects will be provided after the oral presentations. Postgraduate Co-ordinators: Assoc. Prof Mike Ryan & Dr Chris Hawkins, Most seminars will be held in the Biochemistry Seminar Room (Rm 351 Level 3, Phys Sciences 4 Bld) at 1pm, unless noted otherwise.
