Ring Road Safety ImprovementsPurposeImprovement measures to reduce vehicle speed and increase pedestrian safety on the Ring Road. Reason for the projectThis project has been promulgated by a number of public concerns over the past 3 years regarding safety on the Ring Road. These concerns are based on reported excessive vehicle speeds in particular from car park 7 to the Children's Centre. Over the past three years actual and average vehicle speeds near the maintenance depot have been recorded, and the readings have supported the view that speed control devices are necessary.
