Rain Water Harvesting

Purpose

To improve the Universities water efficiency.

Reason for the project

To lead the surrounding community in water saving initiatives.

Funding

Major maintenance.

Work Details

  • Install check meter prior to tank installation for measurement purposes.

  • Construct tank platform using existing supports from old cooling towers.

  • Crane lift 4 2250lt tanks to plant room level.

  • Install tanks with balance manifold and “rainbank” system to guard against lack of rain.

  • Connect new tanks to existing flushometer system.

23/6/2008 to 21/7/2008.
