Alfred stage 2 fit out project

Purpose

The project is for the design and fit out of approx. 920 m2 of space on level 4 of the Alfred Hospital Stage 2 project under a design and construct fit out contract with Baulderstone Hornibrook.

Reason for the project

To accommodate Nursing and Physiotherapy units of the University located at the Hospital under a lease agreement with the hospital. This will address the critical shortage of clinical places at the Alfred Hospital.

Funding

Capital Plan funding of $2 million has been allocated for this project.

Work Details

The scope is for a fit out to University standard on level 4 of the new Alfred Hospital Stage 2 project in Commercial Road, Prahran, Melbourne. Included in the scope is a computer laboratory, a post graduate room, 5 tutorial teaching rooms, a student/staff lounge/kitchenette, offices and workstations for staff (academic and administration) and a foyer/reception area.

Construction Period

From July 2009 until mid 2010. This allows time for the construction of the base building from March 2008 until July 2009.
