Careers
The Careers Officer provides individual consultations which assist prospective students, current students and graduates to make informed career, course and employment decisions and to develop job seeking skills through input to academic programs, organising and running workshops and seminars, disseminating information via a variety of media. The Careers Officer also maintains links between the Faculties and employers in order to facilitate the appropriate placement of graduates and students, provide input to the Faculties regarding course and career outcomes for graduates, and maintain links with the University Careers Advisory Service, Employment Agencies and other appropriate networks.
The role of the Careers Officer includes providing information on a range of topics including the following:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate courses throughout Australia
- Employment opportunities for graduates from various disciplines
- How to choose courses or subjects to suit your career goals
- Preparing for employment including preparing resumes/CVs, letters of application, addressing Key selection criteria, and understanding the interview process.
- Information about employers of graduates
Group Sessions
Workshops and information sessions are targeted to groups within specific courses or general sessions for all students on topics related to graduate employment, resume writing, covering letters, interview skills and career planning. See the Careers Officer or a counsellor for individual help with career planning, course choices or assistance with job applications. Appointments can be made by seeing the reception staff in Student Support Services.
Careers Resources
Student Support Services also has a range of resources including: a range of pamphlets on job seeking, local and overseas careers information, access to employer information on the internet, handbooks from many Australian universities, course information, videos to help with job applications and interview skills, daily newspapers, information on study skills and much more. If you can't find what you are looking for, ask the staff.

Casual Employment
The Bendigo Student Association currently provides a Casual Employment Service for students at the Bendigo campus. To find out about job vacancies or to register for part time and/or casual employment, call in to the Information Desk near the cafeteria in the Student Union Building or phone the Casual Employment Officer on
