Research
The five faculties of the University are represented at the Albury-Wodonga campus, with a total of eight separate schools or departments. The campus is home to significant research expertise in areas such as freshwater ecology, resource management, and issues around ageing in regional communities.
The Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre (MDFRC) is housed on the Albury-Wodonga campus. As a joint venture partner in MDFRC, La Trobe University has an enhanced capacity to increase research in freshwater ecology for the benefit of the whole Murray-Darling Basin.
With the recent appointment of Professor Jeni Warburton as Chair of the campus-based John Richards Initiative (JRI) - research into aged care in rural communities the JRI team is in place and set to make a significant contribution to future developments in rural and regional aged care.
