Appointments should be made via the booking sheets outside the respective offices, which are located on the top floor of Building 4, the Michael J Osborne Building (rooms 4240 and 4237).

Individual consultations are usually limited to one half-hour consultation per week, unless special circumstances prevail.

Some flexibility exists for out-of-hours and telephone consultations. Students are advised that they should visit the Unit and book ahead according to need, as it is unlikely that staff will be free for impromptu consultations – especially during peak periods when major assessment tasks are due.

Students are encouraged to come in pairs or small groups when appropriate, and to use the relevant timetabled drop-in and workshop sessions where possible.

The ASU is open every weekday and the ESL unit is open ten hours a week, Monday to Thursday. Although consultations are usually provided within timetabled hours, flexibility exists for out-of-hours personal or telephone consultations in special circumstances. Students are asked to make an appointment via the booking sheets available at each unit.
