On-campus accommodation

Student Residences

There are 43 places for La Trobe students in our on-campus residences, which are shared with Wodonga Institute of TAFE. There is a high demand for these places.

Accommodation

  • There are twelve units with six bedrooms, one with five bedrooms, and one fully accessible unit with four bedrooms.
  • All units are mixed gender.
  • Each student has their own bedroom and shares the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and living area.
  • Units are fully furnished and have kitchen appliances. Students provide their own bedding, towels and electrical equipment such as stereo, bedside lamp, etc.
  • Most students cook for themselves, but the nearby cafeteria provides reasonably priced meals

Costs

  • 2012 rent is $121.00 per week, plus a bond of $300.00.
  • Rent includes utility costs and professional cleaning twice a week.
  • Students provide their own food.
  • Rent is required in advance at the start of each semester.

Applying for a place

Submit your application form (PDF 52KB) by the first week in January.

Places are very popular, so it's important to apply early and to consider other accommodation options as well. Priority is given to younger students (aged 18-20) and those who have not lived away from home before.

Places will be allocated by ballot after first round offers have been made. Successful applicants will be notified.

Eligibility

Students enrolling in Semester 1 are eligible to apply for a place in the residences for the first 12 months of their course.  Students enrolling in mid-year are eligible to apply for a place for only their first 6 months (Semester 2 of their first year).
