On-campus accommodation

Student Residences
Forty three on-campus places are available to La Trobe students in the residences shared with the neighbouring Wodonga Institute of TAFE. There is a high demand for these places and priority is given to younger students (18–20 years), and those who have not had previous experience of living away from home.
Students who enrol in Semester 1 are eligible to apply for on-campus accommodation for the first 12 months of their course. Students who enrol in Semester 2 (mid-year) are eligible to apply for on-campus accommodation for only the remaining 6 months of the year. If your course duration is greater than 6 or 12 months, you will need to make alternate arrangements for accommodation after the first year. For these reasons, it is important to apply early and to consider other accommodation options as well.
Residences consist of twelve units with six bedrooms, one with five bedrooms and one fully-accessible unit with four bedrooms. All units cater for mixed genders. Each student has their own bedroom and shares the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and living area. Each unit is fully-furnished and equipped with kitchen appliances.
Students need to provide their own bedding, towels and electrical equipment such as stereo, bedside lamp, etc. Most students cook for themselves, but the nearby cafeteria provides meals at a reasonable cost.
The cost for accommodation for 2007 is $101.00 per week, plus a bond of $175.00. Rent is required in advance at the beginning of each semester. Rent includes utility costs and professional cleaning twice a week. Each student provides their own food.
Applications (PDF 52KB) need to be received by the first week in January. Places will be allocated by ballot after first round offers have been made. Only successful applicants will be notified.
