Spies in the Archive and the Novel

Thursday 17 June 2010, 6pm

This workshop was presented by Dr Andrew Croome, who completed his schooling in Albury/Wodonga and has worked as a computer programmer, creative writing tutor and copywriter. He won The Australian Vogel Literary Award in 2008 and the 2010 NSW Premier’s Literary Award for New Writing for his first novel, 'Document Z'.

Dr Croome’s presentation focused on his experiences of writing Document Z,which used archival sources and first-hand accounts as it retold the Petrov affair, a story of spies, espionage and betrayal that rocked Australia in the 1950’s.
