Background

I am medical doctor by profession. After graduation, I worked in different national and international organisations mainly in reproductive and sexual health field in Bangladesh in a capacity of project management before I move to Australia.

I came to Melbourne in 2007 and worked as Project Manager in Partnerships in Safer Sex and Testing, a project of Family Planning Victoria, funded by DHS’ BBV/STI unit for one year.  During this work, I had the opportunity to interact with few interesting and cool young people in rural Victoria. They were smart but at the same time, I found them ignorant in terms of practicing safer sex and managing their sexual health. Therefore, I decided to further research to increase my understanding about the dynamics of young people’s behaviour, their relationships with sexual health and their access status to health services.
