Archaeology ProgramPostgraduate StudiesThe Archaeology Program is a community of scholars united by shared interest in the human past, and we are committed to promoting an environment of active scholarly achievement. We are actively committed to promoting an environment of scholarly achievement and supports students with supervision only by those with expertise in the field, a weekly postgraduate work-in-progress seminar, research completion and publication incentives and an environment of staff-student collegiality through seminars, shared work spaces and common facilities. Areas of strength extend from the archaeology of human origins in Africa, to early civilisations in China, Korea, Mesoamerica, and the eastern Mediterranean, the pre-and-post-contact archaeology of Australia, and the theoretical and historical development of archeology as a discipline. Support for your Postgraduate ResearchThe Archaeology Program allows postgraduate students to become part of a unique research community with regular seminars, and conference and publication opportunities. Postgraduate degreesPostgraduate levels of study available at La Trobe University. Applications for candidatureProspective students may apply at any time. Inquiries should be made through the the Postgraduate Coordinator and applications through the Research and Graduate Studies Office. ScholarshipsAustralian and New Zealand scholarship applicants must submit their forms to the Research and Graduate Studies Office by 31 October. International scholarship applicants must submit their application to the International Programs Office by 30 September. Students may also apply for a range of grants and awards to help fund their studies including: research grants, publication awards and thesis completion awards.
