  • 2009 - 2011 ARC Discovery Grant with Asa Ferrier - $443,395 over 3 years for project Light islands in a sea of dark rainforest: Human influence on fire, climate and biodiversity in the Australian Tropics.

  • 2006 - 2008 Middle and Upper Palaeolithic human behaviour in China. Project funded by an ARC Discovery grant DP0665250. $365,00.00.
  • 2005 – 2008 Kutikina Faunal Analysis. Project with Dr Jillian Garvey, Post Doctoral Research Fellow, Archaeology Program, La Trobe University. Funded by Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Canberra. $46,000.
  • 2004 – 2008 Megafauna Project. Excavation of Titan’s Shelter, Florentine River valley, in collaboration with Dr Jillian Garvey and Dr Judith Field, University of Sydney. Funded by School of Historical and European Studies, La Trobe University. $16,000
  • 2003 Armitstead Archaeological Project. Research and student training project funded by Gunns Pty Ltd, Tasmania, Forest Practices Board, Tasmania and School of Historical and European Studies, La Trobe University. $10,000
  • 2002-2005 Australian Research Council Discovery Grant, La Trobe University; Toxic Harvest: The antiquity of rainforest Aboriginal occupation and toxic plant use in long-term subsistence patterns. $280,000. Co-principal investigator with Dr Judith Field (University of Sydney).
