Install Sophos Anti-Virus for Macintosh
NOTE: Before commencing this installation please ensure that you have uninstalled and deleted all Sophos directories from your hard drive (please refer to the uninstall instructions).
- Once you have downloaded the Sophos installation file (Sophos Anti-Virus.mpkg) double click it to start the installation process.
- The Sophos Anti-Virus installer will start. Click on Continue to accept the source of the package. At the Introduction window click Continue.
- At the Install Sophos Anti-Virus "Read Me" dialogue box click Next
- If your computer has more then one partition, select the destination drive you wish to install Sophos Anti-Virus. Click Next to continue
- At the Install Sophos Anti-Virus "Installation Type" dialogue box click Upgrade to commence installing Sophos Anti-Virus.
- If you are prompted, enter the Username and Password of an account with administrative privileges and click OK to continue with the installation.
- In the system status bar, click the Sophos Anti-Virus icon to display a menu. Choose Open Preferences.
- In the Sophos Anti-Virus preferences dialogue box, click the padlock icon and enter the Username and Password of an account with administrative privileges. Under the AutoUpdate tab select Company web server and enter one of the appropriate settings from below:
- If you are a staff member please enter http://www.latrobe.edu.au/avstaff/ESOSX
- If you are a student please enter http://www.latrobe.edu.au/avstudent/ESOSX
- On the Show pop-up menu choose Scheduling and select "When connection is made to network/internet". Click Set to put the changes into effect.
