THA Conference Papers

At the General Meeting held at the THA conference in January 1997, it was decided that an effort should be made to publish the papers from past THA conferences which have not yet been published. After some thought, the sub-committee pursuing this, Futa Helu, Phyllis Herda and Helen Morton, have decided that the quickest, simplest way to do this is to publish the papers as part of the THA homepage on the Internet. This will also make the papers readily accessible all over the world, and readers can download the papers they wish to keep. Some bound copies will be made to donate to educational institutions in Tonga. Accordingly, soon we will be contacting past conference organisers and participants to ask for their co-operation in this venture. We will not be asking people to revise their papers (unless they particularly wish to); the main aim is to make all those papers available at last.

Internet - THA Members List on the Homepage

Thanks to the many members who have responded positively to the proposal to put a list of THA members on our homepage. I was unable to get the list done in September as planned but will begin work on it soon. For people with email addresses I will give only that as a contact address, and where applicable the name of the institution with which they are affiliated. Anyone not on email and who does not want their mail address to be on the list please contact me ASAP.

Eventually I would like to expand this list by giving a brief note for each person about their interest in Tonga, publications, etc.

Virtual Library of Tonga

Thanks to those (2) people who have volunteered to help with the virtual library. This project may take some time to get off the ground, however I hope to make the first moves before the end of this year and will be in touch with the volunteers again then. More volunteers to help enter bibliographic data are welcome!!
