God and Tonga are my Inheritance

Ko e 'Otua mo Tonga ko hoku Tofi'a"

Come to Sydney in 2005

Your opportunity
to contribute
to learn
to reflect
to have fun!

Put the dates 15-19 July 2005 in your diary, and think about offering a paper. The theme “God and Tonga are my Inheritance”, gives you a broad scope.

Look at old issues in Tonga’s past and come up with a new interpretation of events!

The conference will be held at the Uniting Church in Australia’s Centre for Ministry in Parramatta, which is west of Sydney. Take a train from the airport to Central Station in Sydney, then take a train to Parramatta (Sydney to Parramatta is about 30 minutes). The CFM is not far from the station, but we advise you to take a taxi (10 minutes), for which you will pay about $AUD10. There is also a bus from the station (route 624 or 625).

The cost for accommodation is $35 or $40 depending on which house you will be in and whether you will be sharing a room. There are some double beds for couples. Accommodation includes a light breakfast.

Cost per person, including accommodation and all meals will be $250…………..

Cost per person, without accommodation, but with lunch, morning and afternoon tea and dinner for four days will be $140……………

Cost per person, with lunch and morning and afternoon tea but no dinner for four days will be $95 (cost per day $25)

PAYMENT MUST BE MADE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CONFERENCE OR

THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY, IF ONLY ONE DAY.

This conference will be from Friday to Tuesday, to allow local people to come on Saturday. Sunday will be free, and conference members might like to take the ferry into Sydney and have a look around. There is plenty to do in Sydney. You can buy a ticket for a bus that takes you to all the main sites, and you can get off at your favourite spots and get on again when it suits you. Brochures will be available at the conference.

MEMBERS are reminded that dues are payable by the end of June each year. The membership form attached to the newsletter can be used for both new subscriptions and renewals.

If your renewal is due it will be indicated in a box at the end of the newletter.
