The Sir Archibald Glenn Scholarship

Interview with scholarship recipient, Victoria Buffon

To experience the best that university life has to offer, nothing compares to living on campus.

The relaxed, collegiate environment encourages lasting friendships, and provides immediate access to academic staff and services including library and sporting facilities.

Research tells us that residential students consistently outperform their peers. With their living needs taken care of, students are free to concentrate on excelling academically.

There is simply no better university experience.

With this in mind, La Trobe University has started the Sir Archibald Glenn Scholarship, in memory of La Trobe’s founding Chancellor, Sir Archibald Glenn – a passionate advocate for academic excellence. Accordingly, this scholarship will be awarded on academic merit and importantly will help attract high-achieving students to La Trobe University.

This comprehensive scholarship will include:

  • $6K per year for a maximum of four years of study
  • full board and lodging at Glenn College for up to four years
  • student support through the University mentoring program
  • a personal development plan
  • entry to the Infinity Leadership Program

'Living on campus at Glenn College was great. As a student from a rural area it was a great way to meet new people, make friends and transition to university life. Receiving a scholarship was of enormous help to me and my family. My parents now have three daughters at university, so the extra funds helped us with living costs, text books, computer costs and so on.'

– Victoria Buffon, La Trobe student.
