David Atkin is an innovative leader in ethical and sustainable investment, David was the first Australian to be elected to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment Board.
David is the Chief Executive Officer of Cbus, the $17 billion Australia superannuation fund catering for the retirement needs of over 650,000 members and 72,000 employers in the building and construction industry. As an industry superannuation fund, Cbus operates on the basis that all profits-to-members, and is governed by a board with an equal representation of union and employer trustees.
Throughout his career David has built an impressive track record of achievement, particularly in relation to the organisational innovation and policy leadership. David has contributed to the establishment of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) which assists superannuation funds manage their environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) investment risks.
His other notable career highlights include being board member of the peak body of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia and member of the CEO Panel for the Investor Group on Climate Change.
David completed his Master of Arts at La Trobe University in 1990.
