Past event : Singapore: 12 September
A dinner for La Trobe University alumni was held at the Grand Copthorne Hotel. Approximately 60 alumni attended the dinner representing graduates from a diverse range of years and disciplines studied.
The Chancellor, Mrs. Sylvia Walton AO, as patron of LTU Alumni, was guest speaker. The Chancellor spoke passionately about how her La Trobe university degree had assisted her in her career and life choices. This is the first event to be held in Singapore for many years, and it was good to see so many alumni enthusiastic for a stronger more vibrant presence in Singapore.
Past event: Kuala Lumpur : 14 September
The Malaysian Alumni Chapter held their AGM just prior to the Alumni Dinner, that was held at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara. Among the distinguished guests were the Crown Prince of Perlis and his wife, Her Royal Highness of Perlis, the Minister for Science and Professor Khatijah Yusoff, a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Approximately 30 guests attended the dinner, and listened to the guest speaker alumnus, Dr Ongkili Maximus Johnity, the Minister for Science, Malaysian Government. A highlight of the evening was the opportunity for alumni to take the microphone and share with guests their memories of experiences during their time at La Trobe University.

John and Leon met with students and staff from all LTU programs and East China National University offered to assist in strengthening the University's alumni liaison in Shanghai. Constructive discussions also took place at Tongji University where La Trobe also delivers a Diploma of Business Administration. The major partner in Beijing is CIBT, part of Beijing University of Technology.

Golden Key Trivia Night
Around 70 people from far and wide converged on the Eagle Bar in early September to compete for the honour of 'Quiz Master' in support of Ian Thorpe's Fountain for youth Literacy Backpack Program.
A table from Ballarat University were rewarded for their two hour long journey to La Trobe University by taking taking out 2nd prize; but it was the intellectually supreme Ngarn-gi Bagora Indigenous Centre Team who were eventual victors.
The target to raise $750 was reached comfortably, with the final total (including donations) taking us to just shy of $1000 - a fantastic result!
La Trobe Golden Key would like to thank the many retail and food outlets on Campus who donated prizes for the event, Eagle Bar for allowing us to use their facilities, and Alumni Relations for their generous donation and ongoing supoport for La Trobe Golden Key.
A big thankyou to all who had a hand in putting the night on, and to everyone who attended - keep an eye out for more La Trobe Golden Key Events.
