Melbourne

Domestic and international visitors can fly directly into Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), which is located approximately 25km from the Melbourne central business district. The easiest way to travel into the city from the airport is by taxi, or to catch the Skybus www.skybus.com.au .

Conference venue

Rydges Melbourne is located in Melbourne’s central business district. It is a short walk from Parliament train station, and the 86 and 96 trams (Stop 7 – Russell Street/Bourke Street or Stop 9 – Spring Street/Bourke Street).

Visas

All visitors travelling to Australia must have a valid visa to enter the country. You will be issued with a registration summary and tax invoice to include with your visa application once you have paid your registration.

Visa options

The type of passport that you hold will determine if you are eligible to apply for a visa online, or whether you need to lodge a hard-copy application. It is suggested that you allow up to two months for a visa application to be processed.

If you are planning to visit Australia to participate in a conference, and are not being paid to do so, you can apply for:

  • ETA (subclass 601),
  • eVisitor visa (subclass 651), or
  • Visitor (Business Stream) visa (subclass 600)
