About the Australian Institute for Primary Care & Ageing

The Australian Institute for Primary Care & Ageing is a dedicated research and consultancy organisation within the Faculty of Health Sciences at La Trobe University. Through research, consultancy and educational activities the AIPCA advances knowledge and promotes quality improvement and consumer driven, evidence based practice in all areas of primary health, community health and aged care. The Australian Institute for Primary Care and Ageing was constituted in September 2010, bringing together and building on the strengths of the Australian Institute for Primary Care, the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care, and the John Richards Initiative.

In collaboration with the School of Public Health, AIPCA provides a postgraduate Gerontology program.

The AIPCA provides independent research, expert advice and practical resources to help build better health systems and services. Our work is characterised by a collaborative multidisciplinary perspective underpinned by an evidence-based approach. We take pride in providing creative ideas and thinking as well as practical and relevant outcomes.
