Centre for Quality Improvement Research and Practice

The Centre for Quality Improvement Research and Practice is responsible for the primary accreditation and standards service for community health services in Victoria, provided through Quality Improvement and Community Services Accreditation (QICSA). It provides training and support services in quality assurance.

Over 150 agencies across a range of service types, including the community health sector, alcohol and drug treatment agencies, psychiatric disability rehabilitation and support services, and divisions of general practice, participate in accreditation reviews. CQIRP also hosts the Quality Improvement Program Planning System (QIPPS). This program has been designed to systematically improve health promotion and community development work in community-based services, and ultimately to assist with building the evidence base for this important work.

In addition to the above programs CQIRP staff undertake a range of consultancy and research projects within the broad area of quality improvement.
