Home and Community Based Care: Reaching Marginalised and Resource-Poor Populations

This forum discussed the facts and feasibility of various home and community based care projects in India, Cambodia and Thailand. However the discussion of the role of traditional healers in AIDS prevention and care captured the majority of the discussion. It was generally considered that the traditional medicines helped to alleviate the symptoms of cough, fever, anorexia, pain, insomnia, headache and also help bring about a sense of well being, which could all be due to the inclusion of marijuana! This however then raised questions of legality.
