Sixth ICAAP focused on individual and organisational
capacity building. A comprehensive range of Skills Building
Workshops catered to the needs of clinicians, educators,
people living with HIV and workers in AIDS-service organisations
throughout the region. Workshops were offered under
all conference streams and enabled participants to gain
appropriate skills in areas such as diagnostic treatment
and care, counselling, organisational strategic planning,
harm minimisation, and strategies for working with youth
and people living with HIV. In addition, workshops covered
technical skills such as Internet use, peer education,
public speaking and developing educational materials.
