The La Trobe Master of Business Analytics gives you a strong grounding in analytics and also a chance to apply your skills in a specialisation of your choice. For example, data science, sports analytics, or health analytics.

Hands-on focus

The analytics profession requires multidisciplinary skills and applied practice–that's why our course combines theory and practice. You'll get a grounding in commonly used industry tools including SAS, IBM Cognos, SAP, HANA, Tableau, Microsoft and R.

Academic and industry expertise

The curriculum is designed by academic staff and practitioners with significant experience and industry engagement, as well as expertise in online interactive teaching. The course has a strong industry presence, so you'll get a deep understanding of how the theory applies in the real-world.

The course includes a mix of teaching methods, from traditional classroom lectures and assignments to industry projects, client role-play, and expert assessments. You'll work on problems using industry standard tools and create solutions using industry processes.

Flexible delivery model

Using interactive tools like Skype for Business, you can engage with the class, ask questions, receive feedback, or get workshop assistance from the lecturer in real-time. These interactive sessions will be recorded and made available online if you are unable to attend a class, helping you learn and collaborate anywhere, anytime.

Accessible course and staff

The Master of Business Analytics will be offered outside of working hours (between 6- 9 pm on weekdays) and delivered in face-to-face mode at the City Campus, 360 Collins Street, Melbourne. We also broadcast the core analytics units so you can attend classes online if you can't make it to the classroom.

Your choice of study mode

The course offers flexible study options, including full-time or part-time to fit in with your schedule. If studying part-time, you can enrol in either 1 to 4 subjects each semester and study at your own pace.
