Starting in 2016, the Master of Business Analytics is a new specialist course offered by the La Trobe Business School. The course aims to equip students with the relevant data analytics and business skills to solve critical business problems.
This multidisciplinary course draws upon knowledge and skills in business, statistics, computer science, and personal skills such as communication and critical thinking. The course covers foundation and advanced business analytics using state-of-the art tools to build knowledge and skills.
Why business analytics?
Industries are faced with a growing volume of data that requires more complex analysis than before. With businesses investing over $118 billion worldwide by 2018 in analytical software, hardware and services there will be a growing demand for analytics professionals.
In Australia, the need for analytics professionals in many industries, including banking, retailing, sports, entertainment, health and public services is at an all time high. In the 2014 IAPA 'Skills & Salary' survey, 90 per cent of the respondents reported difficulty with recruiting experienced staff.
In a world where organisations are confronted with a vast amount of information, there will be an ever-increasing demand for graduates who are able to demonstrate that they can make effective use of data.
The La Trobe Master of Business Analytics equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge for this evolving and dynamic profession.
