The University Lodge

Welcome

Linda Kirkman, Warden, The University Lodge
Division of Residential Services

The University Lodge is a friendly residence, housing mostly international students, situated a short distance from the main campus. Surrounded by peaceful parks and residential areas, and housed in elegant Edwardian buildings, The University Lodge offers a community-focussed retreat from the main university campus.

The University Lodge houses only 70 students, and provides a friendly mature age community life with regular social and cultural activities. With free, 24 hour access to a computer lab and sharing facilities with the Graduate School of Management, University Lodge is a wonderful place for academic exploration and achievement.

The residents of The University Lodge consider it to be a home away from home, where everyone is valued and supported in their transition to study at La Trobe University. As Warden of The University Lodge it is my goal that all residents feel they are living in a safe and supportive community where they can pursue academic and personal growth.

Local area and transport

The University Lodge's location provides an ideal academic lifestyle. A ten-minute walk through picturesque parklands takes residents to the main Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. During semester, the University courtesy bus operates each evening at regular intervals between The Lodge and the main campus.

A five-minute walk through the Harry Pottage Reserve is McLeod Railway Station, which takes passengers into the centre of Melbourne in 25 minutes. Access to trams and buses is equally convenient. The nearest shopping centre is adjacent to the railway station and includes a wide variety of shops, including supermarkets, banks, post office, newsagent, food shops and more.
