Single Unit Enrolments

SINGLE UNIT ENROLMENT

Enrolment in Single Unit (non award) courses may be offered subject to availability. These places are only offered on a fee-paying basis to eligible domestic and international students. Single unit enrolments do not lead to an award but credit may be granted towards an award. Enquiries regarding Single Unit enrolment should be referred to the relevant Faculty in the first instance.

ELIGIBILITY

Enrolment is conditional on the recommendation of the relevant Head of School (or nominee) and approval from the Faculty Office. Approvals are not automatic and the Head of School (or nominee) and Faculty Dean have the right to refuse admission to any applicant.

International students must meet appropriate study visa conditions to be eligible to enrol in single units.

SELECTION OF UNITS

To select a unit or units, you should consult the Faculty's section of the Course Handbook on the web. The Course Handbook may also be:

• purchased at the University Bookshop, Melbourne (Bundoora) campus
• viewed at the University libraries
• viewed at your Faculty Office
• your local Student Administration Office

Most first year units do not have pre-requisite requirements. Units at second, third and fourth year normally have pre-requisite requirements and you should check the Course Handbook for Prerequisite requirements.

CLASS TIMETABLE

Please check the Class Timetable on the web to determine when and where the lectures or seminars are held.

The Class Timetable outlines lecture times, while times for tutorials will be announced at the first lecture of your unit. It may be possible to choose alternative lecture times.

HOW TO APPLY

After having consulted the Course Handbook and the Class Timetable for the units you have selected, complete the Application for Single Unit Form available from your Faculty or local Student Administration Office. Relevant supporting information such as previous academic records should be submitted to the Faculty Office with your application.
