Pranay has worked in the higher education sector, in senior financial positions for eleven years. At La Trobe Pranay is the Vice President (Finance & Resources) / Chief Financial Officer.  He has also led the University Restructure of Administrative Services.

Prior to joining La Trobe, Pranay was Director of Finance at Victoria University for three years and before that he was Deputy Director of Financial Operations at the University of Melbourne.

Prior to joining the Education sector, Pranay’s career spanned Local Government and Health Sectors undergoing major transformation in New Zealand.

Pranay is an experienced practitioner when it comes to leading change. His career to date has been largely with organisations that have undergone major changes in the way they govern, financially manage and run their operations.

In local government, the health sector and now the higher education sector he has strived to implement sound financial management. Common to all of these sectors has been a significant move in recent years away from reliance on Commonwealth grants to more self generating income. This has meant a more focussed approach to the way financial resources are generated and managed.

Pranay sees the Administrative areas of the University spanning the roles of custodianship, compliance and customer service.  His vision is that these functions of the University are proactive, professional and intelligent as well as integrated, consistent and responsive.  Underpinning this is an attitude that is understanding and respectful of the academic environment.
