Professor John Rosenberg

Professor John Rosenberg, PhD (Computer Science) (Monash), BSc (Hons) (Computer Science), Monash, FTSE, FACS, FAICD

 Professor John Rosenberg commenced at La Trobe University in August, 2009 and is currently Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Global Relations). He holds the Honours degree of Bachelor of Science and the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in computer science from Monash University, and is a Fellow of the Academy for Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Computer Society.

Previously, Professor Rosenberg was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Deakin University for six years and Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University for six years. Prior to this he held appointments at the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney, and was a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.

Professor Rosenberg is a distinguished academic, is widely published, and continues to be active in significant government working parties and committees. One of his major areas of expertise is information technology, both from an infrastructure point of view and in terms of the use of technology in the delivery of educational programs.

At La Trobe University, Professor Rosenberg is responsible for the internationalisation agenda, including international student recruitment, student mobility and internationalising the student experience; and marketing and engagement, including domestic student recruitment, brand management, corporate marketing, sponsorships and events and load planning. Professor Rosenberg also has responsibility for La Trobe Sport which coordinates all sport activities across the University, including sports teaching, research, services and partnerships; coordination of La Trobe's sustainability agenda; the pathway college, La Trobe Melbourne, the Centre for China Studies; and the La Trobe University Confucius Institute.
