Aboriginal StudiesPostgraduate StudiesResearch programs are available leading to either an MA or PhD. Both degrees are offered by research only and may be taken either full-time or part-time. Masters students normally take 2 years of full-time study or 3-4 years of part-time study to complete a thesis. Doctoral candidates must be enrolled for at least 2.5 years full-time, or 3-7 years part-time. Supervision is available across a wide range of disciplines relevant to Aboriginal Studies. Postgraduate students are normally located in the disciplinary programs of their principal supervisors, but are in a good position to forge links with other areas in the University. Aboriginal Studies students may be supervised from Anthropology, Archaeology, English, History, Legal Studies, Linguistics, Politics, Psychology or any other discipline offering appropriate expertise. The Aboriginal Studies Program welcomes any enquiries about potential candidature for the MA and PhD degrees.
