Aboriginal StudiesHonours ProgramThe one-year honours course in Aboriginal Studies consists of two units (25% each) and a research thesis (50%). The latter is an essay of 12,000 to 15,000 words. Research for the thesis extends through the honours year and is undertaken with the guidance of a supervisor. The Aboriginal Studies Program welcomes enquiries about the structure of the honours course, the units of study, and any other aspects of the course. Application into the honours year is by application at the end of the student’s third year of study. Students considered for admission will normally have at least a good B average in Aboriginal Studies units up to a total of 130 credit points (including 60 credit points from designated core subjects). Prospective honours students are encouraged to take additional Aboriginal Studies subjects to this minimum requirement.
